Outreach Intern
Summer 2020, in the world of COVID, I decided to apply for remote internships to gain some initial experience in my intended career field of digital media.
I landed an internship at Motives Cosmetics with Bella Beauty NYC, a high-end cosmetics brand embracing the message of inner beauty and originality. This allowed me to engage with social media from a brands perspective and familiarize myself with the beauty category.
Fall 2020 amidst my first semester in college I was a social media manager at 42 Growth Strategies, a social media marketing agency managing brands in wellness, fitness, sports, nutrition, and medical fields.
At 42 Growth Strategies, I managed the account of a professional athlete and worked closely with several health and wellness brands. The team worked together to research and implement social media strategies and algorithms which was crucial to my development in the social media field.

As a micro-media influencer, I have been able to implement everything I have learned throughout my internships and experience much first-hand experience in the social media field.
Through all of my experience, this is something I take the most pride in as I have been able to experiment and implement my own ideas with social media algorithms and engagement. Through my platforms, my goal is to encourage others to live a happy, healthy, and active lifestyle by sharing my life as a college athlete.

Hi! My name is Mercedes and I attend college at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, pursuing a career in digital media.
I've wanted to pursue a career in digital media for as long as I can remember. So much that I chose to be a news broadcaster on my career day in kindergarten. As I've grown older, I have also gained much interest in the world of social media. Growing up as a competitive tennis player, I knew my lifestyle was different from the average high school student. As a result of this I started sharing more of my lifestyle on social media and gained a small following on several platforms. This led to my current passion for micro-influencing that allowed me to better familiarize myself with the social media field.
After realizing this passion, the Summer after my senior year of high school I began completing internships and working on several accounts for professional athletes, major cosmetics brands, college sports teams, sports apps, fashion apps, and lifestyle apps.
Today I work on several accounts to reach my goal of putting the "social" back in social media. With each account I work on I intend to create an active community around the account through engaging content that resonates with the target audience.
